What would your new AC system cost?
Find out from home — on your time, without the sales pitch.
With CoolQuote, you can explore your HVAC replacement options, provide information about your home, and build your system step-by-step to get a personalized estimate.
Before we get started, I want you to know exactly what we're going to need from you.
You'll be asked to provide some basic information about your home and your current HVAC system.
We'll need pictures and a few short videos of your existing equipment and certain areas of your home.
We'll also need some measurements. For that, you'll need a measuring tape and a flashlight. Don't worry — we'll show you exactly what to measure and where to find it.
You'll also answer a few questions about your home, your comfort, and what you're looking for in your new system.
This isn't something you have to rush through. You can do it on your own time, from your own home.
The more information you give us, the better we can help you design a system that actually fits your home and your needs.
No sales visit needed to get started. Share the details of your home and system from home, and a Certech estimator builds your personalized quote from them.

Last two questions.
What monthly payment can you afford for this project?
If we design the safest, most efficient, and most economical system to meet all your needs, is there any reason we couldn't move forward with this project?
Show us your equipment
Take new pictures or choose ones you already have. Clear, well-lit photos help us design the right system. Up to 5 per area.
Outdoor AC unit
Include the label on the side with the model and serial number.
What it is: the metal box outside, usually beside or behind the house, with a big fan on top that blows warm air when the AC is running.
Photos to take:
- The whole unit, from a few steps back.
- A close-up of the label (the orange box in the drawing). Make sure the model and serial numbers are readable.
- Where the copper lines go into the house, and the electrical box on the wall.
Indoor equipment
Your furnace or air handler, plus its label.
What it is: your furnace or air handler, the metal cabinet your air ducts connect to. In Houston homes it's usually in a hallway closet, the garage, or the attic.
Photos to take:
- The whole unit, including the ducts at the top or sides.
- A close-up of the label (the orange box). It's often on the front panel.
- The air filter, either in a slot on the unit or behind a vent grille on a wall or ceiling.
No need to open any panels. If the label is hidden behind one, just skip that photo.
Attic space
The area around the equipment and the ductwork. A flashlight helps.
What it is: the space above your ceilings. Many Houston homes have the indoor unit and most of the ductwork up there.
Photos to take:
- A wide shot from the attic opening, looking around.
- The unit and its label, if your equipment is up there.
- The ducts and the insulation.
Safety first: step only on the wood beams or a platform, never on the insulation between them. Attics get very hot, so go early in the day. Photos from the top of the ladder are perfectly fine.
